This week I found this article from thenextweb.com showing some of the new web design trends that they think will be prominent in 2020. I’m going to discuss some of my favorites.
- Involved Illustrations – The author basically says that they see more websites having custom, detailed illustrations to go with the content of their sites. I am always excited to see more illustrations because I think it adds more visual interest.
- Vintage Inspired Colors and Type – This is a fun one. I always like seeing the different types of color themes that ads and websites tend to go for, as there’s usually a different set of “popular” colors each year. This year, I’ll look forward to seeing a resurgence of vintage inspired color themes.
- Black and White – Black and white is always a classic theme, and I’m glad to see that it will still be a big theme in 2020. You can almost never go wrong with a classic black and white look!
- Dominating Grids meet Cards – This one is a personal favorite. I really like grid structures because I love things being very orderly. I think it makes everything easier to view and locate, and I’ll be excited to see more grid structures in 2020.
- Massive Font Sizes – Big text is always a fun thing to add. It is a great attention grabber, and can bring a seemingly boring design to life.
